Winter's Wind

by Jessica

I can feel it now

like my warm knitted scarf

that itches my neck

on a cool winter's day.

I can feel the cool breeze

creeping inside

the microscopic stitches

of my brightly colored scarf.

I can feel the winter's wind

making it's way

down my coat now. I'm shivering,

but yet I feel so warm.

It's invading me

just like the Nazis

invaded the Jews.

I'm helpless, frozen, still.

I am numb now,

I feel weightless,

as light as an atom

feather-like.

I can now feel the light,

gentle swaying of the clear wind

going through the bare, leafless trees.

I can now feel that winter is upon us.
