Jason Franzenburg (Technology Department) was honored on Thursday, February 24th as the Quad City STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) Teacher of the Year. He received this honor from the Quad City Engineering and Science Council at their 49th Annual National Engineers Week Banquet held at the Putnam Museum. Jason is a Department Head and is the coordinator for the Project Lead the Way (PLTW) pre-engineering curriculum taught at West High School. WHS was named as one of the Top Ten National PLTW Model Schools for the 2009-2010 school year. Jason is also a coach for two FIRST Tech Challenge teams in which student design, build and program a robot to compete with similar robots from other schools in various competitions.
