HANNAH CALDWELL CHAPTER NATIONAL SOCIETY DAUGHTERS of the AMERICAN EVOLUTION, DEADLINE MARCH 12, 2010. The amount of the scholarship is $500; this will be awarded to a high school graduating senior. Eligible applicants will satisfy the following qualifications: ◄Anticipated acceptance and enrollment in an accredited Iowa post-secondary institution. ◄Permanent resident and graduate of a Scott County, Iowa high school. ◄Seventh semester high school GPA of a minimum of 3.00. ◄Composite ACT score of 22 or higher. ◄List extracurricular school activities and years involved. ◄Evidence of community service.
AMERICAN LEGION, SECOND DISTRICT, DEPARTMENT OF IOWA, DEADLINE APRIL 15, 2010. Applicant must be a graduating senior who resides in the American Legion Second district of Iowa in Clinton, Dubuque, Jackson, Linn, Jones, or Scott Counties. It is not necessary to be related to a member of the American Legion or Auxiliary. Applicant must attend a college in Iowa. Three $300 general Merit Awards will be awarded.
AMERICAN SOCIETY OF CIVIL ENGINEERS (ASCE) QUAD CITY SECTION, DEADLINE MAY 15, 2010. The Quad City Section ASCE reserves its scholarships for high school seniors pursuing a Civil Engineering degree at an ABET accredited college or university. Eligibility and Requirements: •All applicants must enroll in an eligible Civil Engineering curriculum; and intend to earn a degree in engineering and enter the practice of Civil Engineering after graduation. •Only applicants with a documented transcript and ACT score of 22 or greater and/or SAT composite score of 1000 or greater test scores will be considered. •GPA 3.00 (out of 4) or greater. •Applicant must be a resident of the Quad City Section jurisdiction in Illinois, (Carroll, Whiteside, Lee, Henry, Rock Island, Mercer, and Knox Counties); and in Iowa, (Clinton, Scott, and Muscatine Counties).
DWIGHT H. PERSELS MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP, DEADLINE APRIL 1, 2010. Recipients must be the son or daughter of a DEA member. This includes anyone for whom the member legally provides the majority of support. Three $300 scholarships will be given each year. All scholarships will be awarded on the basis of highest grade point average.
QUAD CITY ASSOCIATION OF FAMILY AND CONSUMER SCIENCES, NAOMI HILDRBRAND SCHOLARSHIP, DEADLINE MARCH 26, 2010. This scholarship is to encourage students of fine character, personality, and ability to study an area of Family and Consumer Sciences at a two or four year college. The award of $500 will be granted on one individual per year. The applicant must be: A student who legally resides in the Quad City area. A senior who will graduate from an accredited high school in the year the award is granted or who graduated prior to the current year. One who has general good character and good attendance. One who has maintained a minimum of a 3.0 grade point. One who shows interest and aptitudes in the fields of Family and Consumer Sciences.
LULAC NATIONAL SCHOLARSHIP FUND LNESC, DEADLINE MARCH 31, 2010. LULAC Council will award scholarships to qualified Hispanic students who are enrolled or are planning to enroll in an accredited college or university in the United States. Awards start at $250. Applicant must submit a copy of your parents’ or your guardian’s tax return for the past year in order to verify your family income. Submit your own tax return for prior year if you were not claimed as a dependent on your parents’ or guardians’ return.
♫IOWA HIGH SCHOOL MUSIC ASSOCIATION LEO H. GRETHER♫ DEADLINE APRIL 15, 2010.♫ One student will be awarded a $1000 scholarship. Candidates must ♪Be an Iowa resident and a graduating senior ♪be enrolling in a college as a vocal music major ♪submit a tape containing two selections of a contrasting nature ♪submit a listing of school music participation and accomplishments ♪provide a letter listing music involvement in church and/or community cosigned by the pastor or civic leader ♪ and a one page essay.
BLACK HAWK CHAPTER NATIONAL SOCIETY of PROFESSIONAL ENGINEERE, DEADLINE MAY 15, 2010. The Black Hawk Chapter intends to offer a $1,000 scholarship to one Iowa and one Illinois student that enrolls in any ABET accredited engineering college or university. Academic requirements are: GPA: 3.00 or greater, ACT Composite Score: 22 or greater, must be U.S. citizen and resident of the Iowa and Illinois counties with Black Hawk Chapter jurisdiction.
ST. AMBRSOE UNIVERSITY THEATRE DEPARTMENT, & MICHAEL KENNEDY THEATRE SCHOLARSHIIP, DEADLINE APRIL 15, 2010. Our theatre department offers a number of scholarships to majors and minors interested and willing to participate in the theatre department. The scholarships help to encourage students to become involved in every aspect of theatre production and to learn through active participation. The Michael Kennedy Scholarship is an award to first year theatre majors. Candidates must commit to declaring theatre as either their major or minor field of study.
BRUBAKER MASONIC LODGE IN DAVENPORT, DEADLINE APRIL 5, 2010. The Lodge will be offering two $250 scholarships this spring. What is needed: an introductory resume, and a one page essay on this year’s theme.
DOUG HARME ISU FRESHAMN SCHOLARSHIP, TAU KAPPA EPSILON, DEADLINE MARCH 15, 2010. We are pleased to inform you that we are making three $500 scholarships available to spring 2010 male high school graduate who will be attending Iowa State University next fall. These awards are based on merit and carry no obligation to join out fraternity.
