DAVENPORT ASSOCIATION OF EDUCATIONAL OFFICE PROFESSIONALS (DAEOP) SCHOLARSHIP, DEADLINE MAY 21, 2010. The DAEOP is giving one $500 scholarship to a graduating senior from one of the Davenport Community School District high schools. The award will be given to the college or university of the applicant’s choice. Applicants must be entering a business course of study and be able to show proof of such. Selection criteria will include academic achievement, extra-curricular activities, community service, an essay, financial need and other conditions deemed appropriate by the Scholarship Committee.
PHI KAPPA PSI AT IOWA STATE UNIVERSITY, 2010 MEN OF EXCELLENCE SCHOLARSHIP, DEADLINE JUNE1, 2010. The Men of Excellence scholarship seeks out men entering Iowa State University who demonstrate great scholastic, leadership, and philanthropic qualities in their everyday lives. This $500 award will be given to the individual who can show that he best fits these qualities.
QUAD CITY MORNING OPTIMIST CLUB 2010 SCHOLARSHIP, DEADLINE MAY 31, 2010. Two $1,000 scholarships will be awarded-one is merit based, the other is need based. Applicants must have applied and been accepted for enrollment at an institution of higher education.
BETA CHI CHAPTER OF THE PI KAPPA ALPHA FRATERNITY SCHOLARSHIP, DEADLINE JUNE 16, 2010. As a chapter, we will provide both scholarship recipients awards of $1,000 to be put towards their academic endeavors. The ideal candidate is extremely motivated and has an impetuous drive for success. These candidates will exemplify the four pillar characteristics of the Pi Kappa Alpha Fraternity: Scholar, Leader, Athlete, and Gentleman (S.L.A.G.). In essence, we seek candidates who value academic achievement and practice academic integrity, are leaders of student groups or other organizations, are involved with athletics with a strong, competitive drive, and who serve their community and treats others with courtesy and respect. While those gentlemen who apply should embody the qualities of any True Pi Kappa Alpha, we would like to make clear: applicants need not join, nor have interest in joining the fraternity, or any other student organization to apply.
2010 VIVA QUAD CITIES SCHOLARSHIP, DEADLINE JUNE 28, 2010. The VIVA Quad Cities scholars will be on the basis of the following criteria: •Financial need (family/applicant’s income as well as the cost of the applicant’s selected college or university will be considered when assessing financial need). •Academic achievement. •Personal qualities and leadership ability. •Two current detailed letters of recommendation from a teacher/professor, community leader, or an employer. •Personal essay. •Contributions/activities to the Hispanic Community and or community as a whole. IOWA LATINO HERITAGE FESTIVAL SCHOLARSHIP, DEADLINE MAY 30, 2010. Any Latino Senior, who is planning on attending a college or university, can submit an application by submitting the following information: 1) A resume/bio of the student, 2) A copy of their high school transcript, 3) A current picture that can be scanned and sent to me. The scholarship amount will be anywhere from $500 to $1,000 per student, with a maximum of 5 students who will receive the award.
JUSTIN SHARP MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP, DEADLINE JUNE 1, 2010. The family will award two graduating seniors from Rock Island County, Scott County, Genesco, or Galesburg a $1,500 scholarship. They are looking for a student that best exemplifies Justin’s passion, work ethic, and dedication to academic and extra-curricular success. You must have a 3.25 GPA to qualify.
