Administration of Prescription Medication

The Board assumes no responsibility for medical treatment of students. If a student must take prescribed medication during school hours, the medication must be furnished in a prescription contained to the school nurse or administrative staff. The school must have written authorization from the attending physician to administer the medication. School personnel assumes no responsibility for administering non-prescription medication.

If an ambulance is needed for transportation to a hospital, it should be summoned through 911. Pupils will be transported to a Davenport hospital unless a specific need or request exists for transportation to a different location.

If there are any questions, contact should be made with the Coordinator of Health Services.
