Mr. Dighton, our former reading
specialist, came back to do a five day unit about Iowa with the third graders.
He wrote the unit in which students learn to read a road map of IA. They travel
with a partner exploring different cities and routes as well as learning about
lakes, rivers, and counties. One photo is a puzzle showing the 99 counties in
IA. Mr. Dighton wears a different T-shirt each day and all have something on
them related to Iowa.
