BUFFALO ELEMENTARY STUDENTS WILL ‘LINE UP’ TO
BREAK GROUND FOR NEW TRACK AND SOCCER FIELD
The entire student population of Buffalo Elementary
will provide a human ‘outline’ of the footprint for
their school’s new track and soccer field during a
groundbreaking celebration for the project on
Wednesday, May 31st, at 10 a.m. at the school in
Buffalo, IA. The new track/soccer field is being
made possible by the vision and generosity of groups
within the Buffalo community, the Roy J. Carver
Charitable Trust, and the hard work of the Buffalo
Elementary PTA, students and families. Organizations
involved included Buffalo Savings Bank, LaFarge
North America, Modern Woodmen of America, the
Buffalo Dad’s Club Soccer program, and the Davenport
Community Schools.
The track will be asphalt with a 200 meter oval. The
soccer field will be the grassy area within the
track. The track will be available to the Buffalo
community outside of school hours. Total cost of the
project is close to $20,000.
