  • The following students need to stop by the Activities Office during passing time to pick up their Fall Sports Awards: Zach Schreiner, Meghan Ryan, Peter Wiese
  • This is a reminder that the Freshman Knowledge Master Open competition is today.  Invited freshman must meet in room 501 at 11:00 a.m. today.  See you then. 12-1
  • The Central Speech Team will be attending the "Harold Keller Invitational" speech tournament at Davenport West this Saturday. All students who are interested in participating in this event should see Mr. Hartje in room 306 either today or early tomorrow. 12-1

  • Attention cast of 'Death by Chocolate': Please report to the auditorium after school today for a mandatory meeting and to receive rehearsal schedules. 12-1

  • This is a reminder to all Scholastic Bowl team members. The week after Thanksgiving is a busy week for Scholastic Bowl competition.  Knowledge Master Open for freshmen is on Monday, December 1 at 11:00 a.m. in room 501.  Varsity Knowledge Master Open competition is on Tuesday, December 2 at 7:30 a.m. in the Barb Hess Community room.  Please check your email to see if you are on the list for the competition.  Also, do not forget that Thursday, December 4th is our First Ever CHS In-House Scholastic Bowl tournament at 7:00 p.m. in our auditorium.  Please check with your senior team captain for more information.  12-1
  • Girls Track & Field open gym starts tomorrow (Tuesday) at 3:00. Be dressed and ready to go outside the weight room. See Coach Trujillo or Coach Rangel for more information. 12-2
  • What does a Starbuck's gift card and the cover of Indigo Ink Literary and Art Magazine have in common?  Both are prizes awarded to the winner of Indigo Ink's cover contest.  Submit your black, white, and indigo artwork to room 501 or newdevils@live.com or look for submission boxes around the school.  If you need more information about the contest, see Mrs. Heninger in room 501, speak with your art teacher, or speak with Kelsey Roebuck or Angela Barr. 12-2
  • Indigo Ink has announced its December writing prompt.  Please be creative and send your submissions to room 501 or email newdevils@live.com or drop them in a submission box located in the library.  Listen carefully to the following prompt: You wake up one morning in jail with no memory of how you got there.  There are five items in your pockets and as you take them out, you begin to remember the events of the night before.  What are the items and how did you end up in jail?  Be creative, and we cannot wait to hear your stories!  12-3
  • Calling all photographers, artists, and writers. We have the snow so now it is up to you. Submit your rendition of Winter Wonderland to Bricolage with Ms Jasper in 212. 12-5
  • Are you a true Blue Devil? Do you prefer the red or blue color during the holidays? Now is your chance to vote. During all lunches and at Friday at the basketball game December 5th make your voice heard. For a mere 25 cents you can sit on Santa (red) or Chanukah Harry's (blue) lap to tell him of your holiday wishes. Have your picture with the man for $3. Or just do a plain old vote for your preference using the penny jar. Funds collected will be used for community outreach during the 40th anniversary of the Tinker Supreme Court Case. Bring the spirits of the past to the present and help teach the future. Adults are welcome. The best pictures and wishes will be used in the BlackhawK. 12-5

When you buy your 2008-2009 year book between the dates of November 13th and December 12th you will automatically be entered into a drawing to win $50 dollars worth of Central gear. Don’t miss out.
