Announcements for 11-14-08

  • Spanish Club will be having its 2nd Movie Night this Friday right after school in room 331. We will be watching "Valentin", a movie from Argentina about " An 8-year-old boy, raised by his grandmother, surrounded by problems in his family he finds only himself capable of solving." Please join us! 11-14
  • Boys’ soccer open gym will start this Sunday Nov. 16th from 4:00 to 6:00.  Open gym will be every Sunday until the season starts from 4-6.  All boys interested in playing for the boys’ soccer team this spring is invited to the open gym.  11-14
  • Attention all girls soccer players. There will be no weightlifting this week. Next open gym is Sunday from 6:30-8:30pm in the new gym. Make sure if you cannot attend you talk to Coach Petersen in the gym. 11-14
  • Attention all Outdoor Education students. If you have not gotten your bike from storage you need to see Coach Petersen right away to take it home. 11-14
  • The Freshman Scholastic Bowl team is practicing on Tuesday, November 18th at 7:00 a.m.  The team is always looking for new members so please invite your friends and do not hesitate to come and try this academic game.  This practice is for freshman only.  We will be practicing for Knowledge Master Open competition at this time.  See you Tuesday. 11-17
  • Anyone interested in Winter Guard should attend an informational meeting on Monday November 17th in Kemper Hall Room 25 right after school. Anyone interested that cannot come to the meeting should talk to Ms. Poskin in Kemper after school sometime before the 17th. See you then! 11-17
  • Blue Crew needs high school students to help with the Math Club at J.B. Young one day a week after school. The club will meet Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays from 3:45 to 4:45. Interested high school students only need to attend one day a week. The sponsors are holding a pizza party meeting at J.B. Young on Tuesday, November 18, to set up a schedule for high school mentors. This volunteer activity will look great on a college application. If you are interested in working with junior high students on this very important project, please try to attend the Tuesday activity. If you cannot attend the meeting, but you are still interested, contact Mr. Gusaas in room 611 or Mrs. Schorg in room 601. 11-18
  • Football, Volleyball, Girls’ Swimming, Boys’ Golf, & Boys’ and Girls’ Cross Country Members - Don’t Forget! Next Tuesday November 18th is the Fall Sports Awards Banquet at 6pm in Kahler Auditorium. 11-18
  • Please join us Wednesday, November 19th in the auditorium immediately after school or the poetry slam. Sponsored by Boys to Men / Shades of Success!!! 11-18
  • There will be a meeting for ALL cheerleaders football, basketball and wrestling on November 24th @ 4:30pm in the aerobics room.  All cheerleaders must attend this.  Bring your uniforms and DVDs with you to the meeting.  11-24
  • It’s getting cold outside and why not bundle up with Central hooded sweatshirts, sweat pants and other stuff to keep you warm. And what would be even better… FREE Central hooded sweatshirts and sweat pants. How you might ask? By buying a yearbook!!! When you buy your 2008-2009 yearbook between the dates of November 13th and December 12th you will automatically be entered into a drawing to win $50 dollars worth of Central gear. Don’t miss out.   • "Singing Fugue for Tinhorns" Ethan (interrupting): Wait! Wait you guys! Stop singing! You don't want to miss the CHS musical, Guys and Dolls! Keenen: That's right! The musical is tonight and tomorrow night at 7pm in Kahler Auditorium.
