Announcements for 11-11-08
Attention all students who have earned commons time for B Term Privileges: Because of the Musical Matinee tomorrow and we are starting guided study and commons privileges, all students will report to the LMC for Commons Times tomorrow. 11-12
Hey Marshall Maniacs – Marshall Maniac Shirts are on sale now in the Activities Office! The T-Shirts are $12 and will only be on sale before and after school and during passing time. 11-13
We will have a representative from Cornell College at 10:00 am, in the guidance office conference room today. Stop and get a pass if interested in visiting with them. 11-11
There will be a Boys basketball meeting Tuesday Nov 11th in the cafeteria at 2:45. All 9-12 graders going out for basketball need to attend this meeting. 11-11
Newslab check in is Today- Any item late must be in by 2:50 Monday. There is a mandatory meeting of those students attending Nationals (with parents) tonight in Kemper at 7pm. 11-11
There will be a Blue Crew meeting on Wednesday to discuss the math mentoring program at Sudlow Junior High. Please try to be there. Sudlow needs students from Central to charge up their math club. Let's get down there and show them how the equations are done! You don't have to be Will Hunting to make a difference. 11-11

Attention wrestlers, there will be a short meeting on Tuesday right after school for those coming out for wrestling. You must attend if you are planning on coming out. See Coach Ehlinger with questions. 11-11
Hey Seniors—did you miss it—do you still want it?? Well, you can still get it – A Baby Ad that is------in this year’s upcoming yearbook! If you missed Monday’s baby ad deadline-- there is still time to get your baby ads in to the yearbook. All you need to do is get your forms in with the ten dollar late fee to the activities office or the yearbook lab in Kemper 12 by the end of the day TODAY. So don’t miss this last chance to get those baby ads in for the upcoming yearbook. The memories will last forever, but this offer won’t! 11-11
National History Day participants,
Please see Mrs. Heninger to pick up a permission slip for either the University of Iowa library trip or the Davenport Public library trip. If you are planning on going on one or both of these trips, check in with Mrs. Heninger regarding the details. Mr. Flaherty and Ms. Heninger also need to know your topics, so be sure to stop by one of our rooms and speak with us about this. 11-12
Shades of Success/Boys to Men will not meet this Wednesday. 11-12
The Varsity Scholastic Bowl is practicing this Thursday morning at 7:00 a.m. This practice is only for those participants who plan to compete at the Rock Island Tournament this coming Saturday. If you can make it to the Saturday tournament, then be sure to come to the practice on Thursday. See you then. 11-12
Attention Seniors:
OPEN CAMPUS will resume for some of you this Wednesday. If you had open campus last term it does not mean you have it again this term. You must check the list on the security window by room 425 or on the office window. If you qualify for open campus but have not turned in a permission slip, you are assigned to Commons until the slip is turned in. Permission slips may be picked up in the office and must be turned in to Mr. Classon in 419 by the Tuesday before you have open campus. If you already have a form on file, you do not need to turn in another. 11-12
Attention Juniors and seniors without permission slips:
If you had Commons last term, it does not mean you have it again this term. Please check the posted lists on the security window by 425 or on the office window to see if you are in commons. This week only Commons will take place in the library because the auditorium is being used for a showing of Guys and Dolls. As always, no food or drinks are allowed. Next week we will be back in the auditorium as per usual. 11-12
Attention Juniors and Seniors:
If you have had a grade change for first term that would qualify you for commons or open campus, bring a copy of your first term grades with any other necessary paper work to Mr. Classon in room 419. 11-12
This Thursday is the first day of the NEW Central Bowling League. If you are interested in joining our league, please come to Bowlmor Lanes at 3:20pm on Thursday. League runs 16 weeks through the winter. Cost is $6.00/week for 3 games and Trophies will be awarded at the end of the season. We start at 3:30 and will be done by 5:30. Come bowl for the winter. 11-13
Spanish Club will be having its 2nd Movie Night this Friday right after school in room 331. We will be watching "Valentin", a movie from Argentina about " An 8-year-old boy, raised by his grandmother, surrounded by problems in his family he finds only himself capable of solving." Please join us! 11-14
Attention all girls soccer players. There will be no weightlifting this week. Next open gym is Sunday from 6:30-8:30pm in the new gym. Make sure if you cannot attend you talk to Coach Petersen in the gym. 11-14
Attention all Outdoor Education students. If you have not gotten your bike from storage you need to see Coach Petersen right away to take it home. 11-14
Anyone interested in Winter Guard should attend an informational meeting on Monday November 17th in Kemper Hall Room 25 right after school. Anyone interested that cannot come to the meeting should talk to Ms. Poskin in Kemper after school sometime before the 17th. See you then! 11-17

Megan: What?! Nathan and I are getting married?! There are still so many preparations I have to make! I am so busy; I'll have no time at all!
Karl: Now wait just a minute there, Miss Adelaide. You must have time to see Davenport Central's production of Guys and Dolls this Thursday, Friday, and Saturday at 7pm in Kahler Auditorium.
Megan: Of course, I wouldn't miss it! Tickets are $8 at the door, and Thursday night is STUDENT NIGHT, and students get in for $5 with their CHS id. So Be sure to join us for some Hot Boxin', Crap Shootin', Rockin' the Boat FUN!
