Announcements for 11-10-08

  • Attention all sophomores: tomorrow, Tuesday, November 11th there will be a short 20 minute meeting at the beginning of 2nd block regarding post-secondary planning. Please go to your 2nd block class and you will be called to come to the auditorium at 9:15am. 11-10
  • Hey Marshall Maniacs – Marshall Maniac Shirts will go on sale TODAY in the Activities Office! The T-Shirts are $12 and will only be on sale before and after school and during passing time.
  • Katie Beale and Mary Betsworth did a great job this past weekend at the Girls State Swimming. Katie placed 22 in the 100 fly and Mary placed 15 in the 200 free and 18 in the 100 free. Swimmers, all equipment needs to be turned in by the end of this week. 11-10
  • A special thank you goes to Mr. Scott and to Mrs. Pacha who both performed some computer magic to get our lists run off early allowing us to start privileges this week instead of next. Thank you also to Mrs. Hosmer, Mrs. Gott and Mrs. Buttleman for arranging for us to have open campus in the IMC, which also made it possible for us to start privileges this week. 11-10
  • All Army JROTC marksmanship team members remember- practice is at Brady stadium today after school. Please get there as soon as you can. Meet at the Brady street gate. 11-10
  • Men’s swim team starts today after school in the pool all that are going out need their physicals and all other paper work turned into the activities office in order to practice. 11-10
  • Twas the 10th of November and all through the school Students heard rumors about something cool, Indigo Ink held a meeting, The students all came, in the hopes of achieving creative aclaim. You are invited to come to our first Indigo Ink meeting on Monday, November 10th after school in room 501.  Bring your artwork, photography, and/or creative writing, and see how you can become involved in our publication of an arts and literary magazine at the end of this year. 11-10
  • We will have a representative from Illinois Wesleyan University at 10:30 am, in the guidance office conference room today. Stop and get a pass if interested in visiting with them. 11-10
  • There will be a Boys basketball meeting Tuesday Nov 11th in the cafeteria at 2:45. All 9-12 graders going out for basketball need to attend this meeting. 11-11
  • Newslab check in is Tuesday- Any item late must be in by 2:50 Monday. There is a mandatory meeting of those students attending Nationals (with parents) Tuesday night in Kemper at 7. 11-11
  • Attention wrestlers, there will be a short meeting on Tuesday right after school for those coming out for wrestling. You must attend if you are planning on coming out. See Coach Ehlinger with questions. 11-11
  • Hey Seniors—did you miss it—do you still want it?? Well, you can still get it – A Baby Ad that is------in this year’s upcoming yearbook! If you missed Monday’s baby ad deadline-- there is still time to get your baby ads in to the yearbook. All you need to do is get your forms in with the ten dollar late fee to the activities office or the yearbook lab in Kemper 12 by Tuesday, Nov. 11. So don’t miss this last chance to get those baby ads in for the upcoming yearbook. The memories will last forever, but this offer won’t! 11-11
  • National History Day participants, Please see Mrs. Heninger to pick up a permission slip for either the University of Iowa library trip or the Davenport Public library trip. If you are planning on going on one or both of these trips, check in with Mrs. Heninger regarding the details.  Mr. Flaherty and Ms. Heninger also need to know your topics, so be sure to stop by one of our rooms and speak with us about this. 11-12
  • Attention Seniors: OPEN CAMPUS will resume for some of you this Wednesday. If you had open campus last term it does not mean you have it again this term. You must check the list on the security window by room 425 or on the office window. If you qualify for open campus but have not turned in a permission slip, you are assigned to Commons until the slip is turned in. Permission slips may be picked up in the office and must be turned in to Mr. Classon in 419 by the Tuesday before you have open campus. If you already have a form on file, you do not need to turn in another. 11-12
  • Attention Juniors and seniors without permission slips: If you had Commons last term, it does not mean you have it again this term. Please check the posted lists on the security window by 425 or on the office window to see if you are in commons. This week only Commons will take place in the library because the auditorium is being used for a showing of Guys and Dolls. As always, no food or drinks are allowed. Next week we will be back in the auditorium as per usual. 11-12
  • Attention Juniors and Seniors: If you have had a grade change for first term that would qualify you for commons or open campus, bring a copy of your first term grades with any other necessary paper work to Mr. Classon in room 419. 11-12
  • Anyone interested in Winter Guard should attend an informational meeting on Monday November 17th in Kemper Hall Room 25 right after school. Anyone interested that cannot come to the meeting should talk to Ms. Poskin in Kemper after school sometime before the 17th.
