  • Please congratulate these people when you see them in the halls!
  • We will have a representative from Ashford University at 1:00 pm, in the guidance office conference room today. Stop and get a pass if interested in visiting with them. 11-6
  • Attention all Students: If the garbage continues to be left on the booths or hidden on the floor by the trophy cabinets in the cafeteria, the booths will be closed until further notice. Also, salt can be obtained at the cashiers stand due to the amounts being taken and wasted. 11-7
  • A term lifeguard students, please stop by Mrs. Hansen’s room to pick up your lifeguard cards. 11-6
  • There will be a brief Drama Club meeting on Thursday after school in room 305 to discuss the Drama Club produced and directed play option. 11-6
  • A mandatory informational meeting for students attending the Art Department’s annual S.O.F.A. Expo trip to Chicago is being held TODAY after school. Please stop by room 314 and pick up this information. 11-6
  • FREE BOWLING – All Central High School Students are invited to bowl for FREE this Friday at Bowlmor Lanes.  We are starting a NEW DC High School Bowling League.  If you may be interested, please come bowl for FREE this Friday and find out more.  Be at Bowlmor Lanes by 3:20 pm for a 3:30 Start.  You will be done by 5:30. 11-6
  • Come check out FCA tomorrow as Nate and Jake lead the group. You don’t have to sign up just show up. Bring a teammate and get connected. 11-6
  • Attention Speech Team members. There will be a brief meeting in room 306 after school today. Those interested in attending the tournament at Dubuque Wahlert on November 22nd should plan on attending. The sign-up deadline for that tournament is Thursday November 13th. 11-6
  • Hey CHS Students! Are you curious about what all of those announcements for "HOT BOX DANCERS" mean?! Do you want to see your friends on stage singing about the "Oldest Established Permanent Floating CRAP game in New York??" Then you better plan to come to CHS's upcoming production of the exciting and hilarious musical "Guys and Dolls." The show premiers on Thursday, November 13, which will also be STUDENT NIGHT. All CHS students will get in that night for only $5 with their student id. Showtime is 7:00 pm in Kahler Auditorium. The show will also run at 7pm on Friday, Nov. 14 and Saturday, Nov. 15. See you there! 11-7
  • Softball Open Gym begins Sunday at Sudlow from 2 to 4. Any interested girl is welcome to attend. 11-7
  • Newspaper 5th-7th block if you have not done check-in this week see Ms Buttleman immediately after school. All stories are past due- Design takes place this weekend. The lab will be open from 1-4 p.m. Saturday and from 9-2 on Sunday. Students going to nationals should consider this time for available practice coaching. Students who are in visual categories must mount materials. Do not wait until the last minute. Students and parents of those going to national journalism competitions next week are required to attend the meeting next Tuesday night at 7 p.m. in Kemper. 11-7

      Indigo Ink held a meeting,
      The students all came,
      in the hopes of achieving creative aclaim.
      You are invited to come to our first Indigo Ink meeting on Monday, November 10th after school in room 501.  Bring your artwork, photography, and/or creative writing, and see how you can become involved in our publication of an arts and literary magazine at the end of this year. 11-10
  • There will be a Boys basketball meeting next Tues Nov 11th in the cafeteria at 2:45. All 9-12 graders going out for basketball need to attend this meeting. 11-11
  • Hey Seniors—did you miss it—do you still want it?? Well, you can still get it – A Baby Ad that is------in this year’s upcoming yearbook! If you missed Monday’s baby ad deadline-- there is still time to get your baby ads in to the yearbook. All you need to do is get your forms in with the ten dollar late fee to the activities office or the yearbook lab in Kemper 12 by Tuesday, Nov. 11. So don’t miss this last chance to get those baby ads in for the upcoming yearbook. The memories will last forever, but this offer won’t! 11-11
  • On June 12th, Davenport Fire Department Captain Bob Juarez, was seriously injured while battling a structure fire in Downtown Davenport.  Saturday, November 8th from 6-11pm, there will be a benefit in his honor, hosted by Dwyer & Michaels. The night’s events will include dinner, raffle drawings, slient and live auctions, and a live performance by the Funktastic Five at 8pm.
