  • Would the following students please stop by the Activities Office after second block: Jenny Fyfe, Meggie Fisher, Allison Valenzuela, and Hayley Thomson
  • Attention wrestlers, there will be a short meeting today, Wednesday, right after school in the main gym. If you cannot attend, you must see Coach Ehlinger. 10-22
  • Shades of Success/Boy to Men meets today at 1:40pm in room 419/ All welcome! 10-22
  • Athletes come check out FCA at 7:00 this Friday morning in the Aud. We will be discussing the topic of DISCIPLINE. Bring a teammate. 10-22
  • We will have a representative from Iowa State University at 10:00 am, and Buena Vista University at 11:00 am in the guidance office conference room today. Stop and get a pass if interested in visiting with them. 10-22
  • Congratulations the Freshman football team on their 35-0 victory over Davenport North last night at Brady Street Stadium. They finished their season with a 3-6 record and improved every week. Way to go guys. Equipment turn in will be Saturday at Brady Street stadium at 10:00 am. 10-22
  • The Blue Devils Girls Swim team had a great fight last night against Clinton. The JV girls won 53 to 41, however, the varsity girls fell short to the River Queens 52 to 42. Overall, the girls swam some of their best times so far for the season and showed great sportsmanship throughout the whole meet. Way to go ladies! 10-22
  • Any senior that is graduating at the end of this term, who has a parking pass, see Mrs. Hansen in the gym you may be able to get your money back for the pass. 10-23
  • Homecoming Pictures are In! Pictures will be available in the cafeteria during all lunches today! 10-24
  • Are you interested in seeing some of the best artwork in the Nation? Maybe enjoying a trip to Chicago with a friend? Well, you can do both if you act quickly. For a limited time Art Club is offering Central students an opportunity to go on this year’s S.O.F.A. Trip. We will be taking a charter bus to Chicago’s Navy Pier on Friday, Nov. 7th. There are only 20 seats left, so please talk with Mr. Balsar before next week, if interested, or if you would like to know more. 10-24
  • Attention all B term PE students you need to stop by the activities office sometime this week to get you PE shirt. You will need your shirt on the first day of class. 10-24
  • What’s Up Central High Boys to men/shades of success want you to know that they will be hosting a “Mix it Up” Poetry slam Wednesday Nov 19th right after school in the auditorium. “Mix it Up” is a Boys to men / Shades of success student initiative aimed at giving Central High school students & staff a chance to display there poetic ability on stage. Join us Wednesday Nov 19th immediately after school in the auditorium, and let your light shine!!! Sign up sheets will be in the main office, come one, come all. Rules: No profanity of any kind, no booing or disrespecting other students, 2-3 minutes per act, Have fun! J
  • If interested please see Mr. Woods in the guidance office. FYI-Poetry slam committee will be meeting Friday morning at 7:15 a.m in the conference room. 10-24
  • Attention all A term PE students and Athletes your PE lockers need to be cleaned out by 11:00, Friday, October 24th. Anything left in the lockers after that time will be thrown out. Any girl who is keeping their locker B term because you are in a sport you need to see Mrs. Hansen by 11:00, Friday, October 24th, to reserve your locker, or your things will be thrown out. 10-24  
  • Hey Blue Devils sign up for intramural badminton. See Mr. Swetalla or Mrs. Hansen in the gym if you want to play. The games will be played next Monday Oct. 27th and Wednesday Oct. 29th at 7:00 in the morning in the new gym. 10-24
  • If you are interested in playing in the Show Choir band this year, please visit Mr. Reese in the choir room to sign up. This year we are looking for Trumpets, Trombones, Alto Saxophone, Tenor Saxophone, Bass Guitar, Drum Set, and Auxiliary Percussion. Rehearsals will begin in early November. This year the show choirs will perform in competition at Madison, Wisconsin....Davenport North.....Mt. Pleasant, Iowa......Minneapolis, Minnesota.....and Cedar Rapids, Iowa. The Show Choir band is the key ingredient in making our groups well known across the midwest. Come be a part of an extremely rewarding activity and a great group of students.
