Announcements for 10-20-08

  • Final opt out forms are due today in the counselors office by 3:00 p.m. 10-20
  • It is extremely important that all members of the boy’s golf team stop down and talk to coach Gill sometime today. Please share this with other players that may not have heard the message…Thanks, Coach Gill 10-20
  • Attention seniors who have not had your picture taken by Carlson Creative Images—your pictures will be taken today from 9-1 in the Barb Hess community room next to the main office. You will be called from class to take your picture. These pictures go in the yearbook so dress nicely and bring your smiles! 10-20
  • Attention wrestlers and those intending to go out for wrestling: There will be a short meeting in the main gym after school on Wednesday. Those that cannot attend must see Coach Ehlinger beforehand. We will discuss body comp testing and other preseason issues. 10-20
  • The Freshman Scholastic Bowl team will be practicing tomorrow, Tuesday, October 21 at 7:00 a.m. in room 501.  Please join us tomorrow.  We are practicing for the November 1st tournament at Moline High School.  This practice is for freshman only.  See you there. 10-20
  • Thank you to all that tried out for Central Idol on Friday after school. There were many talented singers that attended. The Central Idol aud will take place on October 29th during your 4th block so don’t forget your dollar to attend. The five finalists are Scott Cunningham, Shatora Harris, Samantha Moeller, Abbey Sota, and Brianna Morrison. Congratulations to all. 10-20
  • We will have a representative from University of Dubuque at 11:00 am, and Grinnell College at 1:00 pm in the guidance office conference room today. Stop and get a pass if interested in visiting with them. 10-20
  • All Army JROTC Cadets- as a reminder, the marksmanship team written test review and practice is today at Central after school in room 254. Please be on time. 10-20
  • Spanish Club members: Club shirt money needs to be turned in no later than tomorrow. Stop by Room 331 with your $8, or you may not get the shirt you ordered. Those who volunteered to help with the Day of the Dead display, make sure you bring the items for the display case tomorrow after school. A Day of the Dead party is planned for next TUESDAY (not our normal day), Oct. 28 from 5-7 (not our normal time) at Fejervary Park. Please stop in room 331 to sign up for something to bring. 10-20
  • Reminder to newspaper students- Your string book updated and organized through issue 3 with quarterly evaluation and analysis of work is due by exam day. Pick your book up now if you have left it in Kemper. You are responsible for your own mounting supplies. 10-21
  • Attention all B term PE students you need to stop by the activities office sometime this week to get you PE shirt. You will need your shirt on the first day of class. 10-24  
  • Attention all A term PE students and Athletes your PE lockers need to be cleaned out by 11:00, Friday, October 24th. Anything left in the lockers after that time will be thrown out. Any girl who is keeping their locker B term because you are in a sport you need to see Mrs. Hansen by 11:00, Friday, October 24th, to reserve your locker, or your things will be thrown out. 10-24
  •   Hey Blue Devils sign up for intramural badminton. See Mr. Swetalla or Mrs. Hansen in the gym if you want to play. The games will be played next Monday Oct. 27th and Wednesday Oct. 29th at 7:00 in the morning in the new gym. 10-24
  • If you are interested in playing in the Show Choir band this year, please visit Mr. Reese in the choir room to sign up. This year we are looking for Trumpets, Trombones, Alto Saxophone, Tenor Saxophone, Bass Guitar, Drum Set, and Auxiliary Percussion. Rehearsals will begin in early November. This year the show choirs will perform in competition at Madison, Wisconsin....Davenport North.....Mt. Pleasant, Iowa......Minneapolis, Minnesota.....and Cedar Rapids, Iowa. The Show Choir band is the key ingredient in making our groups well known across the midwest. Come be a part of an extremely rewarding activity and a great group of students.
