  • Would the following student please stop by the Activities Office after 2nd Block: Rayshell Carter. 10-13
  • The Varsity Scholastic Bowl team is practicing tomorrow, Tuesday, October 14th, at 7:00 a.m.  This team is for juniors and seniors only.  Please come.  New members are always invited. 10-13
  • ProStart students remember your field trip today. You need to leave your block 2 class at 10:45. Please report to the cafeteria entrance. We will eat and leave immediately after that. 10-13
  • We will have a representative from La James International at 9:45 am, Kalamazoo College at 10:30 am, and University of St Thomas at 11:15 am in the guidance office conference room today. Stop and get a pass if interested in visiting with them. 10-13
  • Indigo Ink is moving forward, are you going the same direction? If you need more information, go to room 501 immediately after school today. There, we will take questions, suggestions, and submissions! Don’t miss this chance to learn more about Central’s new literary magazine.  If you are interested in helping out with our endeavor in any way, come see us this afternoon in room 501. 10-13
  • Last Wednesday the boy’s golf team competed at the District Golf Tournament in Muscatine and finished 2nd allowing our team to advance to the State Championships in Des Moines. At state the boys held their own against some tuff competition finishing in 10th place. The boy’s finished the season with an overall record of 66 wins with 18 losses. Some highlights of the season include winning the Muscatine Invitational, the Lancer Invite, and the Davenport City Tournament and most importantly they won the Conference Championship for the first and only time in the 28 year history of the MAC. Congratulations to the following players for an outstanding season; Ryan Schlueter, Matt Schlueter, Austin Teel, Joe Smith, Ryan Wilson, Mike Maller, Mitch Soltau, and Peter Kaufman.
  • Coach Gill needs to see the varsity boys sometime today to collect scores for state ranking. 10-13
  • We will have a representative from DePauw University at 9:00 am in the guidance office conference room tomorrow. Stop and get a pass if interested in visiting with them. 10-13
  • Congratulations to the Sophomore Girls Volleyball team on placing 2nd in the Muscatine Invite over the weekend! The next home game is this Tuesday (Oct.13) against Clinton. Come out and support your Lady-D'! 10-13
  • Attention Junior and Senior Students: The College Fair is tonight at St. Ambrose from 5pm to 7:30pm. You and your parents will have the opportunity to meet with representatives from more than 90 colleges, universities and technical schools. Don’t miss it. 10-13
  • On Thursday the Lady D' Cross Country Runners were in Muscatine for a great performance. Nicole Miller ran a stunning time turning is a 4th place finish followed by Rebecca Breismore. Leading the way your 2008 Varsity Champion Rebecca Jeannette Wilder. Giving the Girls he chance to be 2nd over all as a team. On the Fresh/Soph side we had a great run and 4th place overall finish by Alexandra Baltimore followed by Melissa Rink and Kimberly Magnus. These great performances and that of others made it possible for the Fresh/Soph Girls to be the overall Champions. For JV we had great runs by Brigit Ehlers Leana Doyle and Kelsey Tope. Great Job Ladies. 10-13
  • There will be a Boys swim team sign-up meeting Tuesday October 14th in the Pool area after school. And also a sign-up sheet with Mr. Hatfield in the Welding shop. 10-13
  • Hey Seniors — time is ticking — you need to get your baby ads in to the yearbook soon. The deadline for submissions is fast approaching. Remind your parents and turn in your pictures and paperwork to the activities office. If you have lost your forms there are extras in the activities office or in the yearbook room — Kemper 12.
