Since 1964, Quad-City area residents have been turning to us to “plant the seed of giving” in our community. We are a public foundation serving thousands of people who share a common concern – improving the quality of life in our 12-county Illinois/Iowa service area.

    National Foundation for Advancement in the Arts $100 - $1,000 October 1, 2008 Must be a high school senior in the discipline of cinematic arts, dance, jazz, classical instrumental music, photography, theater, visual arts, voice and writing
    Wendy's High School Heisman Award Program N/A October 1, 2008 Must have at least a B average and must participate in at least one school sponsored sport. Graduating 2009 senior athlete who exhibits excellence in the classroom, on the field, and within their community
    University of Northern Iowa College of Business Administration Freshman Scholarship Day $500 - $5,000 October 15, 2008 Participation by invitations only
    Young Entrepreneur Foundation Scholarship $1,000-$10,000 December 15, 2008 High School senior entering freshman year at accredited two of four year university, college, or technical institute. Show initiative by having started his or her own business and participate in organizations such as DECA, FBLA, or Junior Achievement
    2009 Prudential Spirit Community Awards $1,000 - $5,000 October 31, 2008 Must have engaged in volunteer activities that occurred at least after September 1, 2007
    Coca-Cola Scholars Program Scholarship $10,000 - $20,000 October 31, 2008 Academic Achievement, leadership in school, Civil and other extracurricular activities, and Employment
    Education Matters $5K Scholarship $5,000 October 31, 2008 Students must be 13 years of age or older and must have completed a scholarship search profile online at www.scholarshipexperts.com

    Iowa-Illinois Regional Auto Show Scholarship N/A January 5, 2009 Short essay discussing future aspirations and/or aims. Letter of recommendation for someone employed at the sponsoring dealership. Participation in extracurricular activities, athletics, volunteer and work experience.
    Ron Brown Scholarship Program $10,000 per year for 4 years January 9, 2009 Must be involved in volunteer efforts within the community. Must excel academically and show exceptional leadership potential
    Gates Millennium Scholars Program Tuition fees, books, & living expenses January 12, 2009 GPA 3.3 on a 4.0
    The Strayer-Rairden Scholarship in Physics $1,000 January 30, 2009 Must attend the University of Iowa and major in physics or astronomy

    Central H.S. Scholarship for Teacher Education $3,500 per year February 1, 2009 Must graduate from Central High School. Must have a 2.0 GPA or higher. Must intend on receiving a major in education
    Dr. and Mrs. Yang Ho Rhee Scholarship Varies February 1, 2009 Student must be of Korean decent and have a 3.0 GPA or higher
    Don E. Charlotte Williams Scholarship $75 per semester hour $2,500 February 1, 2009 Resident of the service area of the community foundation of the great river bend. Shows evidence of leadership & character. Applicant demonstrates academic achievement and appears determined to achieve his/her education goals
    Edwin R. Adland & Ruth H. Adland Scholarship N/A February 1, 2009 Senior from Counties – Jackson, Clinton, Johnson, Muscatine, Scott, Carroll, Whiteside, Henry, Knox, Mercer, or Rock Island

    Mike Condon Memorial Scholarship $450 February 1, 2009 Needs to go into building trade of in that field involvement in Habitat for Humanity, or Construction would be good

    Mariah Becker Memorial Scholarship N/A February 1, 2009 Senior at Davenport Central H.S. with a 3.0 GPA or higher on a 4.0 scale. Shows enthusiasm for life and shown through school involvement and the extracurricular activities with special emphasis on service to others through school, church, and community
    Morency Foster Youth Scholarship Fund $1,000 February 1, 2009 Must be a foster child and must have been in the foster care system for the consecutive 12 months prior to their 18th birthday
    HyVee Foundation Scholarship Program $1,000 February 10, 2009 Must be a high school senior and must have been employed at HyVee or subsidiary associate for at least 6 months before 9/15/2008
    Iowa Newspaper Foundation Scholarship Program $500 - $1,000 February 13, 2009 Good academic record, student preparing for a career in the newspaper industry
    Edwin and Rupert Kautz $2,500 February 28, 2009 3.0 GPA, upper half of graduation class, need base (FAFSA)
    Davidson Institute for Talent Development $10,000-$50,000 March 4, 2009 High achievements
    Restrain Yourself Contest $400 - $600 March 20, 2009 Iowa student grades 9 – 12 are eligible to enter
    Scheldrup Blades Schrock Sand Aranza P.C. Scholarship $2,000 April 10, 2009 Preference is given to students whose family has immigrated to the U.S. within the past 7 years. Must demonstrate financial need. Must have a minimum GPA of 3.0
