33 season bests in the lap races and field events is a true exclamation point
to our season. Most of you who did not get a SB were in a sprint race that was
run into a strong headwind; all of the 100s and 200s were slower than theyve
been the past few weeks, for nearly every team. More important than times or
distances is how you competed for a top spot in nearly every
event. Of the 36 events we contested, only 5 had performances by a relay or
both individuals that were sub-par. All of the hard work you put in over the
last three months has resulted in a team that is tough in nearly every area!
Check out the team scores: only Pleasant Valley and us are at the top in both
Varsity and Frosh-Sop
which means well be battling them again next year, and
the year after that too! For about half of you, this meet was the last
one of your season, and most of you ended on a high note. For the other half,
this Friday will be the second meet of Championship Week, and were planning
another great one! Just remember to prepare yourself properly: rest, sleep,
food, visualization, and positive thoughts! Have no doubt that you are prepared
for this; your training has been gearing you for this meet, from all the way
back in March. Lets focus on competition and finishing ahead of
our opponents. A trip to State is on the line! F/S Shot Put winner Alissa Martin, Muscatine, 36 0
