Dr. Richard W. Von Korff
Class of 1934
Inducted in 1991

    Richard W. Von Korff is an acclaimed scientist who has been recognized for his developmental research in molecular medicine, biochemistry and organic chemistry.  During his years at the University of Minnesota, 1948 to 1966, he contributed extensively to the School of Medicine.  His accomplishments continued at the Maryland Research Center in Baltimore, 1966 to 1977 and in 1977 he became associated with the Michigan Molecular Institute at Midland where he chaired an international symposium.

    Richard Von Korff published fifty scientific papers in the areas of biochemistry and organic chemistry. Among his many professional affiliations are the American Society of Biological Chemists, and the American Chemical Society.  In 1973 he was a National Academy of Science exchange scientist to Romania and in addition was one of two Americans invited to a USSR-GDR Symposium in Leningrad.

    Also of note are his services for YMCA Youth Programs, the Minnesota Heart Association and acting as a Fellow with the Helen Hay Whitney Foundation.

    Mr. Von Korff’s accomplishments in research place him in an elitist group of scientists.
